After two years in production, we jump on board the Bad Company Support 175' vessel in Antalya, Turkey with Chief Engineer Ryan who explains some of the challenges that BadCo and Damen team have faced during the build.
The largest of course is the replacement of the MTU starboard engine back in December. Damen decided to cut the upper deck to remove and install the new MTU engine, so the heli hanger and the large crane had to be removed. 11 tons of MTU 16V4000 came out. Over the last two months she has been put back together in preparation for her big day - seatrial second week of March.
We’re all a little nervous about it and hope all goes well. Delivery early April and 2-3 weeks of shake down trips in the Med, then she is officially joining the world tour. First stop likely Madeira in June. The submarine is done and being delivered from Netherlands, Bell 505 chopper sitting in a container at Damen waiting to be let loose, Viking Billfish 38 being born now, while BadCo 50 hull is about to start. Rounding out the rest of the toys, 15 and 25 RIB. 3 jet skis, and 2 KTM electric motorcycles.
